For woman who is trying to conceive, the million dollar question is always, “how soon can I take a pregnancy test?’? It is crucial to know the right time to determine a positive result. The concern is not only on determining if it’s negative or positive, but the anxiety or emotional drain it may cause a woman should the result becomes negative. This is very common especially to those who are trying to conceive for years already. This article will explain how soon a woman can take a pregnancy test and the varying factors that a woman should consider when determining the result.

You can actually take the test seven to ten days after sexual contact. Obviously, the contact must be unprotected; it’s the first sign that you really want to get pregnant. Pregnancy kits meanwhile are your companion in determining the results. These kits detect HCG levels in the urine. HCG or Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin is a hormone that is being released by the embryo. Positive pregnancy is triggered by an elevated level. If the result is negative, you can repeat the test a week after only if your period hasn’t come.
